A North Webster man is being held in the Kosciusko County Jail on charges of reckless homicide and criminal recklessness in connection with a fatal traffic accident.

Michael Roy Wiggins, 21, of 35 EMS W26 Lane, is being held on $10,000 bond. An initial hearing is set for 11 a.m. today in Kosciusko Superior Court 3.

Wiggins reportedly tested positive for marijuana in his system after an Aug. 4 accident that left 41-year-old Terry Wilson of Fort Wayne dead. According to a police report, Wiggins made a left-hand turn in front of a motorcycle driven by Wilson. The accident occurred on Ind. 13, south of Channel Street, in North Webster.

Wilson was airlifted from the scene of the accident to Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, where he later died.

A passenger on Wilson's motorcycle, 11-year-old Dennis Wilson of Chesapeake, Va., suffered a broken leg in the accident. Both of the Wilsons were ejected from the motorcycle upon impact.

Wiggins suffered cuts and abrasions in the accident.

It is standard procedure for drivers involved in fatal accidents and accidents resulting in serious injuries to be tested for alcohol and drug use.

The charges against Wiggins were filed after the test results were received and a review of the matter was made by the Kosciusko County Prosecutor's Office. The warrant for Wiggins' arrest was issued Wednesday.
