Chapman Lake Conservation Association Announces July 4 Events

Chapman Lake Conservation Association announced its activities for July 4th. The theme for the 2015 July 4th Flotilla is “Your Favorite Board Game.” Entries are encouraged to decorate their float to relate to the theme. Non-members, members and businesses are encouraged to register for the float. The flotilla travels through Big Chapman and Little Chapman with judges awarding cash prizes for first, second and third place. There is no registration fee. Line-up begins at 1 p.m. with the flotilla starting at 1:30 p.m. To register, contact Derek Finch at 574-371-7676 or email finchdc@gmail.com This year’s flotilla grand marshal is Helen Bailey Jones Latta Aldrich. She has lived a majority of her life on Chapman Lake. Aldrich, 95, and her husband currently reside at Grace Village but visit Chapman Lake often. Breakfast July 4 will be at the club house from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. All-you-can-eat pancake egg sausage breakfast is $7 a person. During the breakfast, you can also sign up to become a Chapman Lake Conservation Association member for $25 for each person. There will be new merchandise available for purchase. At dusk July 4, fireworks will begin.
