Oakwood Cemetery Board of Regents Thursday reviewed a letter from Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home Director Ron Redpath.
Board President Warren Tatter read the letter dated Feb. 22 during the meeting.
In the letter, the funeral home thanked cemetery sexton Hal Heagy for his assistance with removing a bronze plaque on a burial plot that needed a new finish and delivering it to the funeral home."As a board, I felt that it would be good that you know your sexton goes beyond the call of duty," the letter states in the letter. "He also is very professional, congenial and a pleasure to work with."
Heagy said there were 14 burials at the cemetery in February and three burial deeds were signed.
Heagy said he has been working with cemetery employees to construct a new leaf box that will be used to store leaves in the cemetery.
Board members are Tatter, Lewis Dobbins and Don Bixel.
