Through the Combined Community Services Toy Consignment Sale and Giveaway, 523 families were provided with Christmas toys for their children, according to organizer Ami Pitt. On Christmas morning, she said 1,845 children will receive gifts because of the annual event, and 347 Bibles also were given to families. “A huge thank you to the 150 families that cleaned out their toy boxes to bring toys to the sale to help generate funds for new toys and got donating their unsold toys to be given to the 523 families,” Pitt said. She also thanked American Bikers Aimed Toward Education for bringing new toys and bikes; Toys for Tots for the new toys; Meijer for their gift of new toys and Culvers of Warsaw for the donation of custard for all the children and a giveback night. “Dollar General of Ligonier provided huge discounts when we shopped for new toys,” Pitt said. “What a great effort by so many,” she said.
