CCS Toy Sale Has Plenty To Offer

Posted
There are plenty of good finds available at the annual Combined Community Services Toy Sale this weekend.

Ami Pitt, who along with her cousin, Tena Boswell, coordinate the event each year, said many of the toys that have come in have good value.

She noted that a Disney edition of Guess Who was going for $40 on the Internet but was available at their sale this weekend.

The public toy sale is 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Home and Family Arts Building at the Kosciusko County Fairgrounds.

"It's a great way to get everything you need for your kids," said Pitt. "Everyone wants their kids to have a great Christmas. But people are also on a budget. This is a way to give your kids a great Christmas and stay within your budget."

Some other notable toys on hand for the sale are a Smores Pony that is battery powered. It talks and even chews.

On Ebay that item has been going for $300.

There is also a carousel pony on site.

Pitt said every item except for clothing is available for children.

There are plenty of toys but also puzzles, books and games.

There are even items for infants and babies.

Pitt said she was thankful for the Kosciuso County Fair Board.

The fair board has provided the Home and Family Arts Building for free for the 17 years the event has been ongoing.

"That's a big committement they've made to us," said Pitt.

The toys consist of consignment items as well as donations.

The consigment items, when sold, are split 50 percent to CCS and 50 percent to the owner.

CCS takes the money from the consignment sale and buys more toys to provide to children in the community who might not otherwise have a Christmas.

The toy collection ended this morning.
