Combined Community Services (CCS) announced the 31st Annual Tools for School event will take place Wednesday, July 29 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lakeview Middle School, 848 E. Smith St., Warsaw.
This back-to-school tradition helps students throughout Kosciusko County begin the school year confident, prepared and ready to learn, according to a news release from CCS.
The event is open to all students entering kindergarten through 12th grade who attend any school in Kosciusko County. Families will receive free school supplies while also connecting with community resources available throughout the day, including free haircuts and shoes.
"Once again, our community is coming together to love our K County students," said Ami Pitt, Tools for School coordinator and case manager at CCS. "I am especially excited because this year United Way is walking beside us, along with our many incredible supporters, to help ensure every child has what they need for a successful school year."
Community members can still make a difference by donating school supplies or making a financial contribution. Monetary donations can be made through the CCS website by selecting the Tools for School fund.
Individuals, businesses, churches and organizations interested in hosting a bookbag stuffing event or volunteering at Tools for School are encouraged to contact Pitt at apitt@ccsgives.com for more information.
CCS extends its gratitude to this year's sponsors and partners, including Warsaw Community Schools, Meijer, United Way, Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club, Changing Footprints and the many volunteers and community supporters who make this event possible, the release states.
