More than 7,000 quality used toys will be sold Saturday and Sunday in the Home and Family Arts Building at the Kosciusko County fairgrounds.
Proceeds will be used to buy new toys for Combined Community Services' Toy Giveaway.
"We get in excellent toys at garage sale prices," said Ami Pitt, volunteer toy giveaway coordinator for CCS. "It really is a great way for people to buy Christmas presents at garage sale prices."
The public toy sale is 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.
"We need 3,500 people to come buy two toys each," said Pitt. "Or 7,000 people to buy one toy each. Or we could really break it down and say we need 2,500 people to buy about three toys each."
Toys were accepted for the toy sale Monday through Thursday. Tonight at 7 p.m., a toy pre-sale will be held for anyone who brought toys in to sell.
The CCS Toy Giveaway will be Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. while supplies last. Any toys not sold in the toy sale will be put in the giveaway. The giveaway also will be at the Home and Family Arts Building.
Pitt has been involved with the giveaway for 16 years, and the toy sale for 14 years.
"On the norm, we may have one person ask about the give away. This year, we had 45 people ask us when it was," she said.
