Court Appointed Special Advocates announced its 11th Annual Holiday Festival fundraiser for Nov. 9 at the Biomet Hangar in Warsaw. The event is from 6 to 10 p.m. There will be about 500 guests at the event, including corporate sponsors, business leaders and other CASA supporters from northern Indiana. The event theme – “Light Up The Life Of A Child” – will welcome guests with more than 15 premier food, wine and beer tasting stations prepared and donated by local vendors, restaurants and chefs. There will be a silent and live auction, raffle prizes and live entertainment by Symphony of the Lakes. Reservations also are available for the “Starlight Room” – a limited VIP area for guests to enjoy upscale food and wine pairings by private chef Andrew Jones (The Viand Chef) and wine experts. CASA is a non-profit organization committed to speaking in the best interest of children who are at risk for abuse and neglect. CASA recruits, trains and supports volunteers to serve as advocates for children in the family court system. With help from the community, this year’s Holiday Festival is expected to raise more than $100,000, which will be used to help local children in need of services. Support at this year’s event will enable CASA to continue training volunteers to serve as advocates for abused and neglected children and allow for necessary tools for future volunteer recruitment. “We have always been very fortunate at past Holiday Festivals by our community’s generosity through sponsorships, ticket sales, and auction purchases,” said Audrey Beckman, president of the CASA board of directors. CASA has strict staff-to-volunteer-advocate ratios they are required to maintain by the National CASA Organization, according to Mackenzie Cloutier, executive director of CASA of Kosciusko County.
