Customers at the Hydro Spray Car Wash had been wondering what that little building adjacent to the car wash bays was for.
It wasn't being built for smaller cars, hybrids or even mo-peds.
"The Dog Wash" was built a couple of weeks ago and gives families a chance to get some one-stop cleaning done.
"People can come and wash their car and their dog," said car wash manager Jason Kado.
Kado manages a car wash in Elkhart where there also is a dog wash.
"It seemed to go over pretty well (in Elkhart)," said Kado. "So we figured we'd try it here."
The building has a door in case the dog has any ideas of taking off and for all intents and purposes looks like a self-service car wash.
It has a brush that dispenses different sorts of shampoos depending on the dog.
There is even a setting in case the dog gets sprayed by a skunk.
There is a dryer and during the winter the building will be heated.
There is even a dispenser but instead of air fresheners it is stocked with treats and towels.
"The dogs seem to like it," said Kado. "Once that get that warm water on them they are fine.
Tuesday afternoon, Diana Kado was in with her 7-year-old golden retriever Buddy.
Diana Kado said she likes to bring buddy in once a week.
The tub is big enough for a golden retriever. Jason Kado said a couple brought in a Great Dane last week.
There is even a drain under the wash for dogs like Buddy who like to stick their head outside the wash area.
