Nearly $20,000 was raised during the live auction at the annual Kosciusko County Cancer Care Fund Gala at Tippecanoe Country Club Saturday night. Bidders purchased various items, including a wine-tasting and gourmet dinner for 10 from Forty-Five North Winery, a diamond ladies' watch and Indianapolis Colts and Notre Dame football tickets, during the auction. All monies raised at the gala go to help families of people battling cancer. John Thomas Hall, who has acute lymphoblastic lymphoma, was the speaker at the event. 'By giving you help us fight this borderline unstoppable disease,' Hall said. Ava Grace Knight, the winner of this year's Junio Idol competition, entertained the crowd by singing 'Raindrops On Roses.' The event also included a slient auction for a variety of items. The amount raised at the event is still being tallied.
