Continuously serving Kosciusko County since 1854
Inspired by the 2001 campaign chairman, Toby Buck, the theme for the Pacesetter kickoff was "Camp We-Gotta-Buck." The Center Lake Pavilion was the "campsite" on June 21. More than 40 guests were assigned to "cabins," given a "smile on a stick" and treated to a brown-bag breakfast.
Buck showed two new videos and informed each company of the advantage of pacesetting. Pacesetters include Bertsch Services, Farmers State Bank, Heartline Pregnancy Center, Medtronic Sofamor Danek, Miller's Merry Manor and Paragon Medical.
The morning included a competition between "cabins" to build and decorate a free-standing teepee in five minutes. Paragon Medical's cabin took the top prize, the ingredients for S'mores, with their teepee, which included a fire and a running stream.
Pacesetters will complete their fund drives by Aug. 30 and report at the campaign kickoff on Sept. 7.
