Local businesses should be on the lookout for a deceptive telemarketing scam selling ads in magazines.
Indiana State Police report that the telemarketers are sending false invoices for ads to local businesses. When the businesses object to paying for the ads the telemarketers claim that the ads have already gone to print and the money is due.
The magazines are legitimate, but the telemarketers are not, according to authorities.
Local, county and state law enforcement agencies are not affiliated with any of the magazines in question.
