Brothers, Sisters to Ride for Kids

Posted
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kosciusko County will hold its second annual BIG Ride for Kids’ Sake August 3.
The event provides riders with the chance to enjoy the open air during the 100-mile round trip to Brandt’s Harley Davidson in Wabash for a hog roast, door prizes, raffle and other fun activities — all while giving back to the local community.
Space is somewhat limited, so contact Heather King at 574-505-0607 or via email at heather.king@bbbsnei.org
Day of event registration starts at 10 a.m. at The Bowling Alley at 1535 N. Detroit St.,  while the escorted ride begins at 11 a.m. The cost is $20 for a single rider and $25 for a rider and passenger.
Money raised from this event stays in Kosciusko County to support the mentoring of at-risk children.
Big Brothers Big Sisters uses this money to support both current matches and create new matches within Kosciusko County.
Sally Seafross, a ‘BIG’ who attended last year with her ‘Little,’ Marlene, said she had a great experience.
According to Seafross, “Last year Marlene and I helped pass out ice cream bars and water.”
Seafross said there was an interactive event where the ‘Littles’ got signatures from some of the bikers.
The ride itself appeals to the rider as well. According to Laster Boggs, “Nothing compares to the rumble of motorcycles gleaming in the sun gliding over the black pavement.”
