Breakfast Optimists Invite Area Kids To Skate For Free

Every year, Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club invites more students to Eastlake Skating Center, Warsaw, for free skating during spring break.

Last year, about 6,000 students were invited. This year, 6,700 tickets were printed.

Students in kindergarten through sixth grade at Tippecanoe Valley, Whitko, Warsaw, North Webster Elementary, parochial and home schools can skate free with free skate rental April 1-11.

The Breakfast Optimists and Eastlake Skating Center have provided the students with a pass for one free session during the break. They may attend any one of the free sessions listed on the skating pass. Students must have their skating pass to attend a free session.

Sessions are: Friday, 7 to 10 p.m.; Saturday, 2 to 4:30 and 7 to 10 p.m.; Sunday, 2 to 4:30 p.m.; Monday, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Christian music; Tuesday, 1 to 4 p.m.; April 6, 1 to 4 p.m.; April 7, 1 to 4 p.m.; April 8, 7 to 10 p.m.; April 9, 2 to 4:30 and 7 to 10 p.m.; April 10, 2 to 4:30 p.m.; and April 11, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Christian music.

Black heel stops on inline skates must be removed before arrival. All sessions are lock-ins. Parents must come in to pick up their children if they leave early.

Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club is a service organization that promotes many youth and community activities. They meet at 7 a.m. in the Shrine Building at the fairgrounds each Wednesday.
