Brian Boyer is running for political office for the first time and is seeking the Warsaw City Council District 2 seat.
Boyer said he has watched the political scene locally and nationally from the background for the past two years, and decided he had seen enough over spending at the local level.
"In these tough times for families, it's critical that as a city, we tighten our belts and become fiscally responsible," Boyer said.
He said he did not support the city's decision to purchase the former National City Bank building for a new city hall.
"It is critical that we look ahead and prepare for tough times. Are we protecting jobs? Are we working on bringing in new business with new jobs? These are questions I ask myself daily," Boyer said.
Boyer said he believes the city can do better and it is time for new and fresh ideas on the city council.
He said he looks forward to hearing and learning from the constituents in the second district.
Boyer is married to Monica Boyer, president of Kosciusko Silent No More.
They have been married 15 years, and have four children and have lived in Warsaw for 11 years.
