Bib’s Smoked BBQ Chicken Pizza from the Café at the Bowling Alley was voted Kosciusko County’s best pizza. The pizza was up against The Wawasee by The Frog Tavern in the final round of voting, winning by 88.6 percent of the vote to 11.4 percent. “It was a steal, it was very much a walkaway,” remarked Sandy Seney, visitors services coordinator with the Kosciusko County Convention and Visitors Bureau, which organized locally the followup to last year’s Burger Wars. Bib’s will go on to compete against Duneland Pizza from Porter County in a bracket matchup starting Friday. People can vote once daily at www.livewellinthemoment.com until June 22. This weekend, travel guide author and Chicago journalist Kate Silver will visit eight regional Pizza Wars contenders to give her take on the pies. Besides Bib’s, the regional contenders are Rulli’s and Iechyd Da Brewing Co., Elkhart County; Iannarelli’s, LaGrange; Albano’s Villa, LaPorte; The Wooden Peel, Marshall; Duneland Pizza, Porter; and Giannetto’s Pizza, St. Joseph. At each location, she’ll rate the pizza using a scorecard. The winners will be announced in conjunction with the winners of the popular vote.
