Boomerang Backpacks Finalist in Beacon Credit Union's Project Spotlight

AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley Boomerang Backpacks has been chosen as one of three Kosciusko County finalists in the Beacon Credit Union’s Project Spotlight.
Voting to select the winner is scheduled to begin Wednesday and runs through Sept. 30, and will take place both online and in Beacon’s branches.
The number of votes Tippecanoe Valley Boomerang Backpacks receives during the voting process will determine how much money Beacon will award in October.
At the end of the voting process, the project receiving the most votes will win $1,000 of funding from Beacon Credit Union. The second place winner will receive $500 of funding and the third place winner will receive $250 of funding.

Tippecanoe Valley Boomerang Backpacks is a program in which weekend nutritional needs of elementary children are met by the provision of food and snacks sent home in a backpack each Friday afternoon, according to a press release provided. Students receive enough food to eat for the entire weekend. Tippecanoe Valley Boomerang Backpacks helps to eliminate hunger and allows students to concentrate more on learning throughout the week.
