Bond In Akron Man's Voyeurism Case Reduced

Posted

The bond for an Akron man accused of voyeurism and child exploitation was reduced earlier this month.

Simpson, 47, of Akron, is accused of videotaping a young girl without her knowledge. His bond, initially set at $250,000, was reduced to $100,000 as long as Simpson complies with stipulations set by the court.

According to court documents, Simpson must turn his passport over to the court. The court will keep the passport and Simpson is not allowed to apply for a lost or stolen passport.

Within seven days of his release, Simpson must report to the Kosciusko County Probation Department with his address and telephone number. After the initial visit, Simpson must check in with the probation department on a weekly basis.

Simpson also must give all his gun ownership and carrying permits to the probation department.

He also was ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim and must stay at least 1,000 feet from her home and her school.

Simpson will be tried in Kosciusko Circuit Court for child exploitation, a Class C felony, and voyeurism, a Class D felony.
