The Kosciusko County Alcoholic Beverage Commission approved a renewal of a beer, wine and liquor license for Louie's Bar & Grill, Thursday.
The Syracuse establishment was cited for the presence of a minor on the premises in November. Steven Yoder, owner of Louie's Bar & Grill, attended the ABC meeting Thursday and told the board the 16-year-old minor had been brought into the bar during lunchtime by his employer.
According to a report from the Indiana Excise Police, an employee at the bar said she did not check the minor's identification because she knew everyone else in his party was over 21 years old so she assumed he was, too.
The citation was the first of its kind issued to Louie's Bar & Grill, and Yoder said he has paid the $250 fine.
"I've never had a violation like that," he told the board. "He knew he shouldn't have been in there. We try to catch people who do come in like that."
The board unanimously approved the license renewal.
