Warsaw Board of Works opened bids Friday of up to more than $11 million for construction of the new wastewater treatment plant.
The three bids were: Bowen Engineering Corp., $11.418 million; Reynolds Construction, $11.758 million; and Indiana Construction Corp. and Construction Corp. Inc., a joint venture, $10.592 million.
An award decision is set for the March 15 Board of Works meeting.
Parks and recreation department superintendent Jon Garber presented two architectural contracts to the board for renovations to the Firemen's Building, Nye Youth Cabin and the Pike Lake Campground trailer dumping station.
CSA Architects LLC, Fort Wayne, was approved as designer/engineer and will conduct an American with Disabilities Act survey at a cost of $3,530 for the buildings and $850 for the dumping station.
The park department employees will do most of the labor. Total cost of the project is expected to be about $30,000.

Heard from street superintendent Lacy Francis that Warsaw will host the Indiana Street Commissioners Association 2002 Convention in late August.
Approved two Indiana Criminal Justice Institute grant applications of $33,197 from the Victims of Crime Act and for $14,480 from the Stop Violence Against Women Act.
Approved leave requests for fire department employees Mike Wilson, Mark Howard, Mike Rice, Brooke Murphy, Jim Dietsch, TIm Hood, Dave Vercauteren and Kerry Stogsdill, and police department employees David Morales, Kip Shuter and Mike Cox.
Approved a parks and recreation department request to purchase a 2002 GMC Sierra 2500HD extended cab 4WD truck for $25,341.92 with a $2,500 trade in of a 1991 Chevrolet 4-WD with snow plow; and a 2002 GMC 1500 2WD truck for $13,196.43 with a trade in for a 1992 Ford F250 2WD, for a total of $38,538.35 from Petro's GM Showplace, Warsaw. Petro's participates in the General Motors Fleet Bid Assist program. Other dealerships contacted on the same vehicles and trade-in allowances were Lakeside Chevrolet for $45,774.79 and Thomson's Chevrolet for $45,016.54.
Approved parks and recreation department contracts with Ramada Plaza Hotel of $870 for the Tommy James and the Shondells stay; $600 for the Guitar Woodies June 7 performance and $500 for their June 21 performance, opening for Tommy James.
Activities director Janelle Wilson said letters for donations have been sent to organizations to support the summer concert series.
Released a lien on property at 1832 Sue St., owned by Deborah Ruch.
