Board Of Works Awards City Hall Third-Floor Renovations Contract

Warsaw Board of Public Works and Safety Wednesday awarded a contract for renovations to the third floor of the city hall on Buffalo Street. OrthoWorx has made a $180,000 donation to the city to assist with remodel costs. OrthoWorx will use the third floor of the city hall for office space for three years. The board approved a $284,445 contract with Harold McComb & Son to do the renovations. Board member Charlie Smith made the motion to award the bid, seconded by Jeff Grose. Warsaw City Planner Jeremy Skinner said the city will sign a contract this week with Harold McComb & Son. In other business, the board approved a $20,650 payment to A & Z Engineering for preliminary engineering on the Husky Trail road improvement project. The city will pay 20 percent of the construction costs, and will be reimbursed 80 percent. Skinner said in the next week he will sit down with A & Z Engineering to go over proposed road plans before they submit them to Indiana Department of Transportation. During the meeting, Thallemer swore in Warsaw Police Department officer Ross Minear. The board approved a $839.88 contract with Cummins Crosspoint LLC for a generator maintenance agreement for Warsaw-Wayne Township Fire Department stations 1 and 2. The board approved a $15.36-an-hour salary for Jason Nichols, Warsaw Street Department equipment operator. A $34,850 contract was approved with Complete Electrical Service for electrical services to be completed at the Warsaw Wastewater Treatment Utility facility. Release of mortgages were approved for homes at 907 E. Market St. and 513 S. Indiana St. Also approved was a $175 contract with Ken Ernsberger for balloon art for a family carnival event Aug. 2 from 6 to 9 p.m. in Central Park, and a $180 contract with Darlene McCartney for a cartoon artist for the family carnival.
