WINONA LAKE – The Block of LOVE is an annual event that celebrates the community’s support of MudLOVE and raises money for Water for Good’s clean water initiatives in the Central African Republic.
The event is Sept. 12 from 4 to 10 p.m. in the artisan village of Winona Lake in the area surrounding the original MudLOVE shop on Park Avenue. There is a $5 suggested entry donation, and visitors can bring a T-shirt to tag for $1.
It features local and award-winning music artists, local food trucks, activities and an interactive social good marketplace. Last year attracted close to 1,500 people from Winona Lake and the surrounding communities, according to MudLOVE’s announcement.
Food will be provided by Who Cut the Cheese, Cerulean, Antiqology, Viand and more. Games include a kids zone, ping-pong and corn hole, and the marketplace will feature items from Belove, Destiny Rescue, Design Outreach, Water for Good, Three Strands, Creative Women of the World and local artists.
Bands performing are U.S. Royalty, James and the Drifters and Beyond Normal Sea. Music starts at 6:30 p.m.
The fundraising goal for the event is $5,000. This can be done by text to give, cash donations, peer-to-peer fundraising and direct donations to Water for Good.
