PIERCETON - A family that had just moved into their apartment Wednesday lost their residence to a fire Thursday afternoon.
The Pierceton Fire Department battled the blaze at Oakwood Circle Apartments, Pierceton, for more than an hour. The children that were home escaped the fire uninjured.
The apartment belonging to Dee English, Pierceton, sustained $15,000 in damage.
Preliminary reports indicate the fire started in the kitchen. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the PFD.
