Don Bixel will serve on the Oakwood Cemetery Board of Regents.
Bixel replaces former board member Bob Sandy, who resigned at the Sept. 6 meeting.
President Warren Tatter welcomed Bixel to the board during Thursday's meeting.
Cemetery sexton Hal Heagy informed board members leaf season has started at the cemetery, but leaves are not falling as fast as previous years and leaf season may be extended.
The deadline for relatives of people who are buried in the cemetery to remove decorative items on grave plots was Nov. 15.
Heagy said the deadline may be extended, depending on how leaf season goes.
The cemetery has been preparing for the winter season by wrapping wire around shrubs at the cemetery's entrance to prevent deer from eating the shrubs.
Water lines in the cemetery also have been drained.
Heagy informed board members the cemetery has purchased a new dump truck and gator to be used to assist cemetery employees with pouring foundations.
There were 23 burials at the cemetery in October, 19 lots were sold and 22 foundations were poured. Ten deeds were signed during the meeting.
Cemetery board members are Lewis Dobbins, Tatter and Bixel.
