"Bowl For Kids' Sake" is an event scheduled for Aug. 12-14 that will raise funds to help support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Indiana.
At the fund-raiser, there will be free food, free bowling and prizes - including a Chicago weekend getaway valued around $500, an NFL football signed by Oakland Raiders' all-star Rod Woodson and more.
The Aug. 12-14 event is at Warsaw Bowl, 1702 E. Market St. Times are available from 8 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. On Aug. 14, the alley will be smoke-free except for a separate designated area. The alley will operate as usual during all other times.
How does Bowl For Kids' Sake work?
Anyone is welcome to put together a team of four to five people to bowl two free games for Big Brothers Big Sisters. Adults and children can participate by filling out a registration form at Warsaw Bowl or contacting Big Brothers Big Sisters by July 25. Once BBBS receives the form, each team captain will be sent a pledge form for each member of the team.
BBBS asks that each bowler raise a minimum of $75 for the organization. Money raised will help re-establish the Warsaw office to better serve Kosciusko county. Bowl For Kids' Sake gives BBBS an opportunity to let people know how they can make a difference in a child's life by becoming an adult mentor. There is a need for nearly 30 volunteers in Kosciusko County alone.
The next Kosciusko County First Friends event will be at Warsaw Bowl July 26 from 1 to 3 p.m. First Friends is a one-afternoon, one-time volunteer community activity for children still waiting to be matched up with a Big Brother or Big Sister. If someone is interested in signing up for First Friends or wishes to learn more about Big Brothers Big Sisters, call 888-456-1600.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Indiana works to provide a variety of options for volunteers. For more information, call 888-456-1600 or visit online at www.bbbsnei.org
