A benefit is Saturday for a Warsaw man who was injured in a June motorcycle accident in Michigan.
Johnny Belcher was injured June 2 in the motorcycle accident and his injuries include multiple fractures to both legs and traumatic brain injury. After several surgeries he is now in a long-term rehab facility in Fort Wayne.
He was recently transferred to the rehab facility with a long road to recovery ahead.
Belcher’s son, Jerry, was in a serious accident Jan. 18 and died from complications in March.
Ken Moore, Belcher’s best friend, has organized Saturday’s benefit for Belcher.
The benefit to assist with Belcher’s medical costs will be Saturday at Warsaw Veterans of Foreign Wars, 1350 W. Center St., Warsaw.
There will be a 100-mile motorcycle ride. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the ride leaves at 11 a.m. The cost is $20 per rider and $25 per passenger and includes a meal.
There will be silent auction with items on display from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A hog roast is planned for riders. The request is $10 for non-ride participants.
There will be a bounce house and face painting for kids, along with karaoke, and a band will perform from 7 to 11 p.m.
