Continuously serving Kosciusko County since 1854
The final touches are being put on preparations for the Red Ball "Beatlemania" July 14.
Information now is available on some of the items that will be included in the auction portion of the event.
The necklace featured in this year's live auction was designed and donated by Bill and Susan Allen, Allen Designs. It is a white and yellow gold handmade one-of-a-kind calla lily pendant, following the theme of the "flower power" of the '60s, the time period for this year's Red Ball. The pendant is accented with 14 brilliant cut diamonds on the inner and outer edge of the blossom and presented on a 14K white gold rollo chain, which may be exchanged for a yellow gold chain, if desired.
In addition to the necklace, the live auction will feature a Wimbledon Party, complete with tennis, followed by an English dinner, donated by Mr. and Mrs. Mike Kubacki, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Teghtmeyer and Mr. and Mrs. Chandler Williams. A trip to London has been donated by Dr. and Mrs. Thom Howard, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Miller and Mr. and Mrs. Scott Lennox. The latest addition to the live auction is two tickets to Elton John's "Peachtree Road Tour" performance Nov. 19 at Conseco Fieldhouse, Indianapolis.
Some of the items in the silent auction are: a silk floral arrangement, sponsored by The Love Bug, Warsaw; an original floral artwork, by Cheryl Blakemore; framed art, donated by Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Luchenbill; a makeover package, by Mr. and Mrs. Dave Montgomery; and an English tea set, donated by the Kubackis. Also in the silent auction will be packages representing Prince Charles, Prince William, Winston Churchill and other English dignitaries.
Beatlemania starts at 6:30 p.m. at Tippecanoe Lake Country Club. The entertainment will be a Tribute to the Beatles by The Return. All proceeds from the ball will go to the local Red Cross. For more information or to donate to the program, call the Red Cross, 574-267-5244.
