The parade is part of National Pirates Weekend, which is held the first weekend in August. It is being sponsored by the Barbee Lake Property Owners Association.
Schlotterback said the association's membership is down this year with 500 members. Its goals is to have 800 members.

Participants last year included residents of Big Barbee Lake, Little Barbee Lake, Kuhn Lake, Seacrest Lake, Irish Lake, Sawmill Lake and Banning Lake.
