Back To The Days Of Kosciuszko Changes To Timeline Format

Back to the Days of Kosciuzsko has a new format this year.

Event organizers announced this week the living history event will follow a timeline format. According to a statement from event organizers, "While Back to the Days of Kosciuzsko has always represented the periods from 1746 to 1817, this year a more diverse groups have been invited to portray living history."The reenactment groups expected at this year's event include a medieval group, Shires of Dragons, a canoe camp, mountain men, trappers and traders, a bowmaker, an early American military group complete with a working cannon and a Civil War group. Other performers will include "Ben Franklin," Punch and Judy puppet show and Thistle Mountain dulcimer players.

New this year will be a working rug loom in the log house that was built in 1854. The black smith shop will be under the direction of Matt Gillis.

Back to the Days of Kosciuzsko will be held Saturday and Sunday at the Kosciuzsko County Fairgrounds, Warsaw. Admission is $3, with children 5 and younger free.

Today, approximately 950 students from 12 area schools attended the 18th annual event for School Days of Back to the Days. Represented school corporations included Warsaw, Whitko, Wawasee, Wa-Nee and East Noble.
