PIERCETON – A Hogs For Dogs – And Kitties Too motorcycle ride to benefit the Animal Welfare League is June 2 at the AWL.
Festivities open at 11 a.m.
AWL is at 3489 E. CR 100S, Pierceton.
Register at www.awl-warsaw.org or call the AWL at 574-267-3008.
“Sheri Krichbaum, AWL volunteer, came up with this idea, including the name and logo design,” said Darla McCammon, AWL executive director. “This will be fun for those who like to ride motorcycles, but it will also be a family affair for those who stay with us at the shelter after the riders go on their tour.”
Bikers pay $25 to participate and will receive the ride route, a free T-shirt, an entry for door prizes, a free meal at the halfway point on the bike route, and an opportunity to be voted “People’s Choice Bike” with yet another prize.
Passengers on the ride pay $15.
General public attendees who want to participate in the activities at the shelter will be allowed in for free.
Bikers will return to the shelter at the end of the ride where they will find activities already taking place.
There will be food for sale, games, the silent auction, a “Moon Bounce” and prizes for those participating in the events at the shelter.
Everyone will have a chance to vote on the “People’s Choice Bike.”
Silent auction gifts include a wide variety.
“We have a 1985 Franklin Mint Collectible miniature set of guns,” Krichbaum said.
McCammon said there is something for everyone from family night baskets to hair cuts, vet visits, tattoos and silver Harley muffler lamps.
