Auto Park Closing Warsaw, South Bend, Huntington Lots

Posted
The Auto Park is closing three locations in and around Warsaw.
The Warsaw location of the pre-owned vehicle dealer, at 2271 N. Detroit St., is quickly being emptied of cars and is expected to close after today.
Along with the South Bend and Huntington lots, vehicles from Warsaw and only a few staff members from the three locations are being moved to other Auto Park lots.
The Auto Park also operates dealerships in Plymouth, Goshen, Kendallville, Rochester and in Sturgis, Mich. The three locations being closed are no longer listed on the company website, www.theautopark.net
The decision to close was made last Tuesday, Mark Thomason, general manager, said this morning. The closures were mulled over in the company for “a considerable amount of time,” he said, though he noted he wasn’t included in the decision.
He referred further questions to a company human resources director, who did not return calls as of press time.
In the past year, the Auto Park in Warsaw has made donations in the community such as $2,800 to Habitat for Humanity in March and a vehicle for a Warsaw Community High School raffle in May.
The dealership also was fined $5,000 by the City of Warsaw in March for violating the city’s sign ordinance by displaying balloons and strobe lights.
