The Greentree assisted living project met with final approval by the Warsaw Plan Commission Monday. The secondary review of the development plan and preliminary and final plat approval were given.
Final approval will be granted pending review by Kosciusko County highway superintendent Rob Ladson.
Construction on the three-story apartment building, which will have 58 units, will begin soon. The development is at 1900 Ranch Road, along County Farm Road, and will have a second phase of 48 duplexes.
Concerns about drainage were answered by Mike Wiley of the Schneider Corp., the project engineers. He said a retention pond will be dredged deeper to contain water runoff.
Jeff Noffsinger, Warsaw city planner, said the city is seeking a 40-foot right of way on the Betty Morgan property, which borders the development. He said that would give the city a total of 80 feet for future road expansions or utility installations on County Farm Road.
Joe Thallemer, who was absent, was re-elected plan commission president; Jeff Grose, vice president; and Alan Clingan, secretary. Also serving on the board are Bill Baldwin, Lacy Francis, Richard Keeven and Dewey Lawshe.
Several members volunteered to serve on committees to revise zoning ordinances and comprehensive plans.
Noffsinger said others will be asked to serve on these task forces and make text amendments.
