ROANOKE – Artist Penny French-Deal has opened a new gallery at Roanoke restaurant Joseph Decuis, called The Gallery at Joseph Decuis, Exclusively Featuring the Art of Penny French-Deal. A grand opening for the gallery is Friday from 5:30 to 8 p.m., with music by guitarist Kent Young. “This transition brings exciting visions as I plan ahead for possibilities in this new space,” she is quoted as saying in the announcement. “The elegant and charming atmosphere of the Cottage will provide a beautiful background for displaying my paintings. It will be energizing to play a part in the Joseph Decuis team; one that serves the community with an atmosphere of elegance and entertainment.” French-Deal, whose work is on display in Warsaw City Hall until Feb. 14, previously owned a gallery across the street from the restaurant. She also owns a studio in North Manchester and is represented at Artworks the Galleria of Fine Arts in Fort Wayne. She also has a solo show that opened Friday at Gallery 101, College of Pharmacy, Manchester University, called “A Journey of Yellow.” A reception there will be May 2 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. For more information, call 260-578-2181 or visit www.french-deal.com
