A local man was arrested after a domestic dispute with his wife in front of her children.
Austen Everett Alan Lyke, 23, was arrested and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 10:19 p.m. Thursday for domestic battery in the presence of a child under 16, a level 6 felony, and domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor. His preliminary bond was set at $5,750.
His booking information lists his address as 106 W. North St., Claypool, but court documents list his address as 3205 Heron Blvd., Warsaw.
On March 30, Warsaw Police officer Brian Hupp responded to a domestic battery complaint at the Warsaw address.
Upon arrival, he spoke with the victim who said she confronted Lyke about smoking marijuana inside their residence. She tried to get her cell phone from her vehicle so she could call police, but Lyke rushed to the front door and blocked her from going to the vehicle. He then shoved her in the chest, sending her backward on to the couch, hurting her hip. She said the incident occurred within earshot of her four children.
