A couple were arrested recently on domestic battery charges.
Kathryn Marriah Rhamey, 26, of 3104 E. Wooster Road, Pierceton, lot 55, was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 8:06 a.m. Wednesday for domestic battery causing serious bodily injury.
Court documents filed July 17 list charges against her as domestic battery causing serious bodily injury, a level 5 felony; and domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor. Her bond was set at $10,000 surety.
Dexter Ross Nine, 31, of 3699 N. CR 175E, lot 182, Warsaw, was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 7:27 a.m. Wednesday for battery causing bodily injury on a pregnant woman and domestic battery with a deadly weapon. His preliminary bond was set at $11,000.
Court documents on the charges for Nine were not available as of this morning.
On July 4, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department officer Joel Popenfoose responded to a report of man bleeding from the face at lot 55. After arriving, he spoke with the victim, Nine, who was in the back of the ambulance with a very large cut to his nose. He also was covered in blood from head to toe, according to the July 17 court documents.
Nine told Popenfoose that he and his girlfriend, Rhamey, were arguing when she charged at him and hit him in the face with a ceramic plate.
With Nine’s permission, Popenfoose photographed the scene inside the mobile home, and found a large amount of blood and a broken ceramic plate.
Nine told Popenfoose that Rhamey left the house immediately after she hit him with the plate.
Because of the severity of Nine’s injuries, he was taken from Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
