WINONA LAKE - Antique car lovers will get their fill of automobiles at the sixth annual Village at Winona Antique Car Festival Aug. 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The event is free and open to the public.
Those who attend will have the opportunity to view 50 pre-World War II automobiles.
"We try to limit the cars that are on display to the type that were in the town when it was in its infancy," said Brent Wilcoxson, managing director of The Village at Winona.
Wilcoxson said people of all ages are encouraged to attend the festival.
"Grandparents love to show their kids the types of cars they grew up driving and some owners will pose with their cars for pictures," he said.
A Model A club from Fort Wayne will participate in the day and display automobiles. Other citizens in the county who own automobiles also will display their vehicles.
The festival will kick off at 10 a.m. with a parade around Winona Lake. The automobiles will be on display along East Canal Street after the parade.
Cars will be blocked from parking outside Cerulean to Gallery D to make the area pedestrian friendly, Wilcoxson said.
The Auditorium Street Bridge also will be closed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
People may shop at the Artisan Court shops, eat at the Village eateries and enjoy the sounds of big band music.
This year's entertainment will feature the New Millennium Jazz Orchestra from Fort Wayne. The band will perform in the Artisan Court from 1 to 4 p.m.
A dance floor will be set up for those who wish to dance.
