Anthology Receives $10,000 Main Street Facade Grant

Anthology Whiskey Room, 109 E. Center St., Warsaw, was awarded a $10,000 Main Street Warsaw facade grant Monday.
Owner Dave Gustafson said there is a new front at Anthology. There used to be large glass display cases and a ramp that went from the door to the sidewalk that were removed. They created a new floor system, a new wall and ceiling and exposed the space to the outdoors. Outdoor seating was added as well.
Anthology moved into the Center Street location about a year ago.
Construction on the facade started around February and ended a couple weeks ago. Gustafson said they timed it “to where we could this open when the weather turned, you know, as the weather got nice in the late spring,” he said.
The cost of the work cost around $42,000, he said.
Gustafson said he’s had several hospitality spaces in the past and adding outdoor seating was an essential part of making it the space they wanted to for their guests’ experience.
“Obviously, when the weather turns in the Midwest, everyone wants to be outside and I think it adds a really beneficial environment for our guests to enjoy,” he said, noting as other parts of downtown Warsaw activates, outdoor guests get to participate more in that.
Gustafson said Anthology currently carries about 1,500 whiskeys and a large wine list they’re about to carry.
