WINONA LAKE - The fourth annual Northern Indiana Fat & Skinny Tire Fest will be held May 4-6.
The three-day festival is hosted by The Village at Winona, the KVC Cycling Club and Trailhouse.
The festival will begin May 4 with the Lake City Greenway opening ceremony. Gov. Mitch Daniels will cut the ribbon at the ceremony and cruise the trail.The greenway is an eight-mile, multi-use trail for bicycling, walking, jogging, running and rollerblading.
The vision for the Lake City Greenway is to connect Warsaw, Winona Lake and other areas of Kosciusko County with access to the Village at Winona, Grace College, Winona Lake Park and Beach, the YMCA, Kosciusko County Fair Grounds, downtown Warsaw, several Warsaw city parks and the City-County Athletic Complex.
Events May 5 will include multi-length tour rides, a Winona to Wooster circuit road race, DINO series MTB races, historic Winona Lake tours, BMX freestyle shows and an expo tent with demo bikes and industry representatives.
A Kids Safety City exhibition and wild ride bike art parade and tricycle races sponsored by the Warsaw Noon Optimist Club also will be held.
Events May 6 will feature a USCF road criterium race, Orthopaedic Cup celebrity beach cruiser race and an expo tent with demo bikes and industry representatives.
