SYRACUSE – The 26th annual Beaman Home Golf Scramble on June 4 at South Shore Golf Course in Syracuse netted nearly $13,000 to support the organization’s continued goal to provide essential services to domestic violence victims and their children.

Twenty-two teams participated.

The teams of Nextremity Solutions, Bartel Printing and Midwest Poultry all finished the scramble with a 56 (16 under par). A tie-breaker was determined and Nextremity Solutions was awarded first place with team members Rod Mayer, Tad Nieter, Ryan Schlotterback and Shane Hartle receiving a prize package including 18 holes of golf at South Shore Golf Club and a $50 Visa card.

Bartel Printing was determined the runner-up. Team members Murray Bartel, Mike LaLonde, Chris LaLonde and Nick Anglemeyer received a $25 gift card to Orthocity Brewery & Smokehouse and a dozen golf balls for their second-place finish.

All teams had options to pay for mulligans and a creative way to further the advancement of their ball. Bowen Center sponsored a hole where golfers paid to advance a remote-control car to improve their tee-off position. At the end of the day, Bowen Center employees presented Beaman Home with $837 raised by their RC challenge.

Other contests the players participated in were the longest drive, longest putt and closest to the pin. The longest drives were won by Bill Zimmer and Shelley Shilling.  The longest putt winner was Mark Overhiser, and Kal Denlinger won the closest to the pin.

All players were also given a chance to win an all-terrain vehicle sponsored by Kerlin Motorsports for a hole in one.

A news release from The Beaman Home says the organization “is extremely thankful for the generous contributions from local businesses and donors for this event.” There were different levels of sponsors.
