Annual contracts for the Warsaw Fire Department and the Parks and Recreation Department were approved Friday by the Warsaw Board of Works.
The board also agreed that Warsaw would maintain and monitor Winona Lake's water meter, and would pay for maintenance and calibration.
Andy McCleary, the program director for the Park Department, told the board the department received a $2,000 grant from Dekko for children's programming this summer.
The board also approved a contract between the city and Fast Cabs; the contract specified the company's 10 drivers and six vehicles.
Fast Cabs' owner David Cesaretti asked the board to revise the vehicle inspection schedule, which requires him to have all his vehicles inspected by the city's mechanic every three months.
Cesaretti said the inspections are difficult to schedule because of the amount of work done by the mechanic. Warsaw Mayor Ernie Wiggins told Cesaretti that the inspection is required by city ordinance, and any changes must be made by the city council.
The Board of Works meets at 8:30 a.m. in the city council chambers on the first and third Fridays of each month.
