The annual Animal Welfare League Fur Ball will be here Sept. 28 at 6 p.m. The event will be held again in the showroom of the Toyota of Warsaw dealership is sponsored by the Rice brothers and Dave Illingworth family. This year will prove to be very different and an exciting adventure for the community, according to AWL Executive Director Darmla McCammon. Not only are there ample silent auction gifts, but some very special live auction opportunities such as a room makeover, a Russian River Wine experience near Napa Valley, Calif., a picnic on a full day pontoon adventure, seats for a Colt's experience at a game, a ride in Dane Miller's new helicopter followed by dinner at Cerulean, original art pieces by Terry Armstrong and Steve Creighton and more. This year's Fur Ball will include the debut of the “Warsminster Dog (and One Cat) Show.” Attendees to the ball will get to enjoy all this in addition to the 4-H club agility show, hors d'oeuvres, a cash bar, a raffle of a custom-made jewelry piece from an internationally known jeweler in Florida, and a silent auction with more opportunities to take home something special. Tickets are $30 per person in advance and $35 at the door. Guests are encouraged to call ahead for reservations or questions to 574-267-3008. This annual event is the main fundraiser each year to help this not-for-profit charity dedicated to helping people and pets of our community. “Please consider attending this event and help us continue our fine work to find new homes for our homeless animals,” McCammon said.
