Anderson Professor To Present C.S. Lewis Portrayal At WCPL

Posted
Anderson University Professor Kevin Radaker will portray C.S. Lewis Oct. 25 at Warsaw Community Public Library.

He will speak at 6 p.m. on the life of C.S. Lewis.

Radaker, 54, Noblesville, is a professor of English and chairman of the English Department at Anderson University.

In summer 2009, he began offering his portrayal of C.S. Lewis to places of worship, universities, colleges, libraries and retirement communities.

"In summer 2007 I began doing research on C.S. Lewis and felt it was important to offer a voice to bridge the gaps among religious denominations," Radaker said. "I wanted to help the skeptic reconsider why they don't believe in God and take that leap of faith."

Radaker said Lewis was an important voice in the world of Christianity.

Lewis is an Irish-born British novelist, scholar and broadcaster. He is known for his fiction, "The Screwtape Letters", "The Chronicles of Narnia" and "The Space Trilogy".

Lewis died at age 64 in 1963.

Radaker recommends those 16 years and older attend his portrayal at WCPL.

Radaker earned his doctorate from Penn State in 1986 and offers one-man shows.

Since 1991, he has presented his portrayal of American author Henry David Thoreau more than 350 times throughout the United States at universities, college, high schools, libraries, museums, conferences, state and national parks and Chautauqua tours.

Radaker teaches the first course in Anderson University's honors programs as well as courses in American literature, modern drama and upper-division writing.

He has presented numerous papers on Thoreau at academic conferences and has published articles on Thoreau, Herman Melville, Annie Dillard and Wendell Berry in encyclopedias and academic journals.
