Americans For Prosperity 'Agenda' Bus Stops In Warsaw

Posted
Americans for Prosperity brought its “Obama’s Failing Agenda” bus tour to the Kosciusko County Courthouse Tuesday afternoon.

Americans for Prosperity was founded by Charles and David Koch and is based in Arlington, Va.

The mission is to educate on what the organization refers to as Obama’s big government agenda, and help put what it calls grassroots pressure on politicians to turn away from what they call “destructive policies.”

The approximately 50 people who attended the tour in Warsaw had the opportunity to sign a petition expressing their concern for what the organization refers to as the president’s “failing policies.”

The organization has 35 state chapters and 2 million activists nationwide. Indiana is one of the chapters.

Besides Warsaw, the tour made stops Tuesday in Mishawaka, Goshen, Wabash, Marion and Alexandria.

Stops today will be in  Richmond, Connersville, Rushville, Greenfield, Pendleton and Carmel.

Last week, stops were in Terre Haute, Evansville and  Bloomington.

Chase Downham, Americans for Prosperity Indiana director, said the tour kicked off two weeks ago in southwest Indiana.

“This is about advancing economic freedom and building a grassroots force around our state that can really make a difference,” Downham said.

The organization has three buses that are going all over the U.S. spreading the message of concern of Obama’s policies.

“We are bringing to attention Obama’s failing agenda including the presidents’ $1.7 trillion health care takeover that Hoosiers don’t want and we feel that is a bad policy item,” Downham said.

Downham said the tour also emphasizes the more than 42 months of unemployment above 8 percent, $16 trillion in national debt and billions of dollars in what the organization says is wasted on green energy scams.

“The purpose of this bus tour is to highlight the fact that these policies that President Obama has been implementing are failing our country and state,” Downham said.

He said there needs to be a turn toward economic freedom.

Downham said the tour also wants Hoosiers to be aware that Congressman Joe Donnelly has supported a lot of these measures.

Downham said the organization wants to put pressure on Donnelly to start doing what is good for Hoosiers, not the president’s agenda.

“We think most Hoosiers understand that it is private enterprise that can grow our economy,” Downham said.

“Freedom leads to prosperity in contrast to the policies President Obama has implemented and Congressman Donnelley has supported.”

He said the goal of the tour is to stop in as many communities in Indiana as possible. There will be four more dates in October where the bus will make stops in Indiana.

“It is about getting the message of Obama’s failed agenda to all corners of Indiana,” Downham said.
