Several local businesses with alcohol permits have changed hands.
And in the process, their permits for alcohol sales also had to be transferred by the Kosciusko County Alcoholic Beverage Commission.
Lance's Super Dollar, 726 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, was approved for a transfer of ownership of a dealer beer and wine permit. The business was formerly Augsburger's.
Daniel Lance, of Lance's Super Dollar, said they bought Augsburger's in October 1999 and they're now "trying to get everything changed over to our name." He said the only change to the business is the name.
Augsburger's beer and wine dealer permit was also renewed.
A North Webster restaurant, carry-out and bar formerly known as Nadine's, 407 N. Himes, is now Jimmy's Restaurant and Lounge. The petitioners, Sheila and Jamie Pailla, were approved for the transfer of beer, wine and liquor and Sunday sales retailer permits.
Harrigan's Irish Pub, 209 Buffalo St., Warsaw, will be renamed Good Times Food and Spirits.
The ABC approved the transfer of ownership for a beer and wine retailer permit for the new owner, Terry Warren.
Asked if he's ever owned a bar before, Warren said, "No, I haven't," but he was a bartender for Harrigan's Irish Pub for the last two years and when he was younger.
Renewal for Claypool Inn's beer, wine and liquor and Sunday sales permits was continued to the Sept. 7 ABC meeting. Indiana Excise Officer Pat Fleck said the inn has a violation and she has not received their food figures as of the meeting.
Renewals approved by the ABC included:
• Beer, wine and liquor and Sunday sales retailer permit for Silver Inn Tavern, 105 E. Main St., Silver Lake.
• Beer and Sunday sales retailer permits for Pizza King, 1727 W. Lake St., Warsaw.
• Beer, wine and liquor and Sunday sales retailer permits for Maxie's Restaurant, Syracuse.
• Beer, wine and liquor dealer permit for Service Liquors, 108 S. Lake St., Warsaw.
• Beer, wine and liquor and Sunday sales retailer permits for Wawasee Bowl, 11993 Ind. 13N, Syracuse.
• Beer, wine and liquor dealer permit for Pierceton Discount Package Store, 201 First St., Pierceton.
• Beer and wine dealer permit for Vintage France, 802 Park Ave., Winona Lake.
Members of the ABC include Darwin Call, Kenneth Johnson, Fleck and Gordon Vanator.
They meet at 2 p.m. in the county courthouse on the first Thursday of every month.
