FORT WAYNE -ÊA Warsaw man involved in an accident late Saturday night near Pierceton died Wednesday from injuries suffered in the crash.

Steven Vetor, 40, of 1470 E. CR 550S, Warsaw, was pronounced dead at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, where he was a patient since being airlifted there early Sunday morning.

According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, Vetor was traveling at a high rate of speed Saturday around 11:15 p.m. when he lost control on a curve on Pierceton Road near CR 400E, Pierceton. Vetor then overcorrected and hit a tree with his 1997 Pontiac Firebird.

According to the Allen County Coroner's Office, Parkview Hospital records show there was no alcohol in Vetor's system after the crash.

Initially, Kosciusko County Sheriff's officers suspected alcohol was a factor in the crash, but alcohol was not a factor.

Arrangements for Vetor's funeral are pending at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Home, Warsaw. A partial obituary appears on page 3A today.
