ABC Fails To Meet For Lack Of Quorum

Posted

Twenty-two petitions before the Kosciusko County Alcoholic Beverage Commission were continued Thursday to the February meeting because of a lack of board members present.

Gordon Vanator failed to show up for the 2 p.m. meeting. Board secretary Howard Long resigned in late December to travel more with his wife, according to board president Darwin Call.

For any action to be taken, the board needs to have three of its four members present. Only Call and excise officer Pat Fleck were present Thursday.

Permit extensions will be provided to petitioners who need them, Fleck said.

The 22 petitions will be heard at the next ABC meeting Feb. 3 at 2 p.m. in the courthouse.
