SYRACUSE – On Dec. 9, a Syracuse couple arrived home to find that their home had been burglarized.
The couple arrived home to find the dog door in the garage was taken off and put back on backward. Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Dept. deputies believe the suspects gained entry through the garage.
While inside the house, the suspect or suspects made their way to the master bathroom where they stole $50,000 in jewelry, as well as a large purse which they used to transport the stolen goods. Deputies believe the suspects left the home through the back door.
Deputies turned the case over to KCSD detectives for fingerprints and forensic evidence.
Detectives noticed that there was another daytime break-in Oct. 12 at the home across the road. It is unknown whether or not the two incidents are related in any way.
