Four people suffered injuries in a two-vehicle accident Friday afternoon.
Brittani Zumbrun, 16, Leesburg, complained of pain and was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Zumbrun's passenger in the Jeep Cherokee, who, a Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department spokesman said, was her 7-year-old sister, was transported by ambulance to Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne. The sister's name was not available Friday night.
Rachael Carson, 17, Warsaw, was airlifted to Parkview by Samaritan helicopter. A 16-year-old male passenger, whose name was not available, in Carson's car complained of pain and was transported to KCH.
No condition report on any of the injured people was available by deadline for today's newspaper.
According to the KCSD spokesman, Zumbrun was southbound on Fox Farm Road at approximately 4:38 p.m. Friday when she failed to yield at the intersection of Fox Farm Road and U.S. 30, Warsaw, colliding with Carson's car, which was eastbound on U.S. 30. Upon impact, Zumbrun's vehicle overturned onto the driver's side. Total damage to both vehicles was estimated at $10,000 to $25,000.
Warsaw Fire Department, Warsaw Police Department, Indiana State Police, Multi-Township EMS and Samaritan assisted the KCSD at the scene.
