SYRACUSE - Information on the condition of a Churubusco man pulled unconscious early Sunday from Lake Wawasee was not available this morning.
According to a preliminary report from the Department of Natural Resources, it is unclear how long 28-year-old Scott E. Coulter was in the water before being found by a friend about 4 a.m. Personnel from Syracuse Emergency Medical Service responded to the scene and administered a series of drugs to Coulter. By the time he arrived at Goshen General Hospital, Coulter reportedly had vital signs and a blood pressure. No information was available from GGH as of press time today.
The DNR report indicates that Coulter was drinking prior to the incident. Friends told authorities that Coulter was not normally a drinker, but was drinking heavily at the time.
Coulter was found in 3 feet of water, about 15 feet from the boat he and his friends were in. It is unclear whether Coulter fell from the boat or jumped into the water. Once he was found, Coulter's friends dragged him to shore.
