NORTH WEBSTER - Excessive speed and alcohol may have caused an all-terrain vehicle accident that injured a Syracuse man early Saturday morning.
Brandon Richcreek, 21, Syracuse, suffered a severe cut to his head and several cuts to his hands and legs when the ATV he was riding lost control on CR 650N, North Webster, Saturday.
According to the Department of Natural Resources, a witness said Richcreek was westbound on CR 650N, just east of Kalorama Road, near North Webster, when he lost control. The ATV went off the road and rolled several times. Richcreek was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
Richcreek was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital by the North Webster Ambulance Service to be treated for his injuries.
According to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, excessive speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the accident.
Units assisting Indiana Conservation Officers at the scene included North Webster Police Department, Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, North Webster Fire Department and North Webster EMS.
